Is free really free?

Everywhere I look, I see the word Free or a phrase exalting such claims. And I always wondered if the phrase was really true. My good ole’ Dad always told me that “Nothing in life is free there is always a catch Son.” This adage is true for most of life with few exceptions mixed in. The internet is always touting free this or that and I want to see if that is true with say, setting up a website for free using offers that I found online.

Searching out these sites are not hard if you just use the correct search words in the engine of your choice, I prefer Google because it generates the most congruent information relating to your search parameters. Simply input “free website” and it should pull up many choices for you to check into. At some point you will realize that the website is actually the first in many steps getting online with your site/business, but first lets’ just build our website. After making your choice of which you are comfortable with it may occur to you that a site offering Hosting as well would benefit you greatly working on the free idea.

Now that I have built my website and have gotten “free” hosting I find out that the actual price of free generally runs from $3.50 up to as high as $20.00 per month and probably the most important fact “that there no such thing as Free Hosting” that I have found. You can get a free domain name or url, but research the restrictions that the host may have, it turned out that the free host I was going to try had a clause that the host can take over and you would no longer be the owner of your own website which made me nervous, so I went to the major domain name service and purchased my own and have all ownership no matter what host I go to and pay a monthly service too as well.

Purchasing your own domain name separately gives you all the ownership rights and your choice of hosting agent and price you wish to pay. It’s a matter of your choice and your comfort level with your host or any of its affiliates.

At this point I hope that the clause for free makes a little more sense, it’s not always a scam either and we should realize it is a marketing tool getting people to try their product and then make a choice informed and hopefully not poorer for the experience.

  1. domain name $ 19.86 (per year)

  1. Host $ 14.97 (6 months)

  1. Site Builder Program $14.97 (one time fee)

These are the actual prices we paid after looking for the free experience and have had no problems with building out site from scratch. Good luck to you and remember Research your idea before spending a dime.

Why Google-AdSense makes sense

When I started a website and some blogs with a friend we certainly learned a lot from a myriad of web content both free and for a cost. It boggles the mind with so many different ways to undertake the mastering of making real money online with your small business. I suggest this as one of your first steps doing it right.

Google AdSense was a great find, if you currently have a Google email account; it is just that much easier. After you have logged into your account just enter AdSense into your Google search and you should be introduced to www.AdSense.com . Now you will be able to make some money from your Blog or website. Starting your profile is simple and quick with easy integration onto your website or blog with simple html copy and paste techniques easily done thru your web design software you used to create your content.

There are several ways to set-up a payment plan from Google with options for an amount cap then a check is cut and sent to the address listed on your profile. I found $100.00 the best because it gives you a chance to see how your sites’ analytics’ and by what campaign you choose that works best. One of the things I liked the best was a way to “view” my earnings by (today, yesterday, last seven days, this month, last month and all time)

Several different options are offered for using AdSense with your campaigns they range from:

1. AdSense for content

2. AdSense for search

3. AdSense for mobile content

4. AdSense for domains

5. AdSense for feeds

With each of these applications there are different strategies for the content so you should make sure to choose all that relate to your website and its content. I suggest using as many of these as possible and if it is done correctly, making sure to use all the correct search parameter words and phrases coming back to your website or blog, you to can and will make money online with your content.

Line etiquette

While I was in line at a major store chain last night I felt a strange feeling behind me and as I turned around there was this guy in his thirties or forties just standing there staring seemingly afraid to acknowledge me as his cart is resting on my heels, so when I gave the "man nod" thinking he may realize how close he actually was, as I understand sometimes we are absorbed in other things. I moved on to the checker thinking all is good then, I look over while using my ATM card and he is standing basically toe to heel trying to get me to get out of his way, being a tolerant human being I looked at him and stated in a mild tone " I am going as fast as I can I will be done in a moment". This was taken as an affront to his manhood but, with the world afraid of it's own shadow he just stared little daggers at me on my way out of the grocery store.

This situation would be eliminated completely if everyone just showed a little respect and patience when doing things in public, life is not always only about you. This blog is the first in a series trying to decipher the reason why we as humans refuse to use respect or etiquette in daily life.
